S&S Worldwide, Inc.

the largest manufacturer of roller coasters & thrill rides, is seeking a full time Welder to provide support to the Fabrication department.

Welder

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Welder will fabrication Supervisor, the Welder will fabricate various welded product per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule and company requirements, using welding machines and other hand-operated equipment as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform fitting and welding of amusement ride components using GMAW and FCAW welding processes in various production positions, up to and including 6GR
  • Produce quality welds that pass ultrasonic, magnetic particle and visual inspections that meet AWS D1.1 or equivalent requirements
  • Set up, fit, self-inspect, and weld product accurately, using fixtures and guides where available to fabricate parts
  • Operate and/or use equipment and tools, including forklifts, cranes, slings, grinder, cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, and measurement tools
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures, and maintain level of work performance in accordance with ASTM and AWS standards and/or job specifications
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by tidying up assigned work area and by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Perform or assist in all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
  • Must have at least 2 year's welding experience with 2G, 3G, and 6G positions
  • Must be able to pass in-house weld tests and maintain certifications in accordance with AWS D1.1, D1.3 and others as prescribed.
  • Must have the ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints and/or other printed instructional materials in the welding of products or parts.
  • must be able to safely and correctly operate power tolls and hand tools and lift and move various types of heavy equipment and fabrication components
  • Must be dependable, with a proven history of satisfactory work attendance and punctuality
  • Must have considerable physical strength and stamina and must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
