POSITION: Bus Driver QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School Graduate Preferred LICENSING: Licensing as required by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Missouri Department of Revenue and State of MissouriEXPERIENCE: Appropriate Experience for Position Preferred REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation POSITION SUMMARY: Southern Boone County R-I School bus drivers provided an important service to the district. They are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school. These drivers have the daily first and last contact with every student they serve and should strive to make the school bus ride a safe and pleasant experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows laws, regulations and rules that are established by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Department of Revenue, State of Missouri and Southern Boone School Board of Education.Drives any route assigned in a safe and timely manner.Keeps control of students on the bus and follow discipline procedures that have been adopted.Is neat, clean, pleasant and sets good example for all students.Keeps the inside of the bus neat and clean; washes or makes arrangements with the bus mechanic for someone else to wash the outside of the bus when needed.Does daily per-trip inspections and reports any mechanical concerns to the bus mechanic.Keeps accurate student riding records.Attends monthly safety meetings.Gases bus when needed and keeps accurate mileage and gas records.Uses radio to report any problems or concerns to the bus mechanic.Adheres to the policies of the Board of Education TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year - All days that students are in attendance. A two-week notice is required in writing by employee or employer when position is vacated. EVALUATION: Evaluation of this job will done by the Director of Transportation.
