The ideal candidate will assist Participants with daily living activities, implement personalized care plans, and promote independence in a supportive environment. This role requires strong communication skills, physical capability, and proficiency in digital documentation. As a DSP, you'll work collaboratively within a team to ensure the highest quality of care while accurately maintaining electronic records and adapting to the unique needs of each Participant.The RoleAssist participants with developmental disabilities in their daily routines, fostering autonomy and engagementImplement tailored care plans and track progress toward individual goalsProvide behavioral and emotional support during crises or challenging situationsEncourage and assist with community integration through social and recreational activitiesAdminister medications, monitor health conditions, and report any changesMaintain accurate and prompt updates to electronic medical recordsDocument incidents, participant activities, and progress within internal systemsCollaborate with team members during meetings and care coordination sessionsAdjust support strategies based on participant needs and team feedbackPerform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving participants as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust pass the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) testMust complete and achieve certification in the Lambs Farm DSP program within 120 days of hire and maintain compliance with all training and certifications necessary for the roleMust complete and achieve certification in the Medication Administration Certification program within 160 days of hire and maintain authorization thereafterMust complete the Lambs Farm Rise Program and achieve Tier 2 certification as vacancies become availableAbility to properly handle and prepare food for participants as part of daily dutiesMust be comfortable providing care for participants who may become ill and follow appropriate health and safety protocolsPrevious experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferredProficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding EnglishPhysically capable of lifting, moving, and assisting participants, with the ability to lift up to 50 poundsMust achieve CPR, First Aid, and crisis intervention certification through the Lambs Farm training programValid driver's license with a clean driving recordStrong team collaboration skills and willingness to adapt to changing needsCommitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding participant informationComputer SkillsAccurate typing and data entry skillsProficiency in navigating websites and using web-based applicationsAbility to use word processors and spreadsheet softwareCompetence in managing emails and digital communicationsFamiliarity with digital communication etiquette and techniquesExperience with or ability to learn electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as Therap, Epic, or Allscripts.CompensationThe hourly rate for this role is $19.00 per hourDisclaimer: As part of the pre-employment process, all employees at Lambs Farm are required to successfully complete background and registry checks and medical screenings.
