Job Summary and Qualifications

  1. Position Summary: Performs tasks associated with drug distribution (procurement, storage, control, preparation, compounding, dispensing) for inpatient and outpatient use. Ensures the safe and cost-effective use of medications by monitoring patient drug therapy and providing drug information.
Advanced Clinical Pharmacists provide additional clinical pharmacy services in addition to staff pharmacists. These services include but not limited to decentralized staffing on patient care areas, patient rounding with medical staff, and other specialized roles and projects.
  1. Position Requirements:
  1. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Pharmacist License by the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy. BCPS certification or equivalent preferred.
  1. Education: Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) or Pharm. D. required
  1. Experience: Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
  1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Drug therapy knowledge; drug dispensing, sterile product preparation, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to supervise and provide direction to support staff, prioritize workload and use computers (medication order entry systems and word processing/spreadsheet programs).

Driver's License/Vehicle: Occasionally may require driving to deliver pharmaceuticals to off-site HealthONE pharmacies such as free-standing emergency departments or surgery centers; employee needs access to a personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a current auto insurance policy.
III.Degree of Supervision Required: Performs essential functions with minimal supervision. Director and Pharmacy Manager assigns projects, provides direction, and evaluates performance.
IV.Orientation Period: 4-6 weeks. May be modified at the discretion of the supervisor.
