Job description

Job Title:

Directional Drill Operator

Pay:

25-38/hr

Description:

Leading utilities contractors seeking skilled Directional Drill Operator for their local Minnesota team. This position will be year-round and have consistent overtime in the summer months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate Horizontal Directional Drill for the installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable.

• Set up and cleanup work sites, including managing traffic and pedestrian control.

• Read utility locates and coordinate the daylighting of these facilities.

• Ensure all applicable permits and locates are complete and on-site.

• Operate construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to meet grade specifications.

• Level earth to final grade specifications.

• Perform proper maintenance by greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs on equipment.

• Confirm bore path with install foreman and drill operator, including walking the bore path.

• Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product.

Preferred:

• Class A CDL license (Air Brake, Combination certs)

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
