We are looking for a Senior Engagement Director to join us in our mission to create the most entertaining gaming franchise in the world-and to continually raise the bar for both Battlefield and the industry.
In this highly visible leadership role, you will lead the vision and creation of a wildly entertaining and compelling meta experience for players - from fun and challenging progression systems that inspire players, to elegant economy designs that bring fun in rewards, to social systems that enable players to meet and connect with one another and UX and UI interfaces and designs that enable players to have the best experiences inside our iconic franchise.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong creative skills to push boundaries and create new ones and are able to come up with designs that delight players. In addition, this leader enjoys working across teams and functions to both mine for the best ideas and to leverage talents for world-class implementation.
What You'll Do
  • Create Wildly Entertaining Vision by defining and guiding the long-term direction for Progression, Economy, Social, and Engagement systems. Ensuring alignment with the overall game vision, product strategy and player experience goals.
  • Mobilize world class teams to create the designs by evolving processes and structures within the design team and across disciplines-including technology and product management-to support shared, large-scale goals.
  • Guide the world-class execution from high-level vision through implementation, iteration, and live operation
  • Foster perpetual learning, improvement environment where diverse perspectives are valued and innovation thrives
  • Master collaboration to inspire and unite teams across studios, time zones, operating within a multi-product environment - driving shared vision and exceptional player experiences.
  • Communicate vision and intent, and design thinking - articulating goals, trade-offs, constraints, and risks to partners across design, product, engineering, UX, and leadership.
  • Mentor, coach, and elevate talent around you - fostering growth, strengthening craft excellence, and building a resilient, high-performing design organization.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience leading game teams and defining player-focused meta systems and design direction in a live service environment.
  • Experience and passion for meta design systems. Ways to keep players entertained across progression, social, and live services.
  • Deep empathy and understanding of player needs and motivations.
  • Demonstrated success in the gaming industry
  • Strong understanding of mass-market player appeal, with the ability to innovate within established genres and expectations
  • A player-first mindset balanced with strong product and business awareness
Required Qualifications
  • At least one shipped title in a design creative leadership role working in Progression, Economy, and/or Social systems
  • Love and passion for meta and design
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator
  • Thrives in leading cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated success in designing highly engaging games

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco) *$215,900 - $327,900 USD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
