MANAGER – RAW MATERIAL PROCUREMENT
Role Summary
The Raw Material Procurement Manager will ensure that Pilot production facilities have the essential materials required to maintain seamless operations. This pivotal role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize pricing and contract negotiations, purchasing processes, and identify improvement opportunities that drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Reception - Provide general support to visitors and the site
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for core raw material spend.
  • Challenge suppliers to provide Pilot with amenable terms and conditions while also maintaining their profitability. Provide sustainable cost-savings to the business. Review written contracts and agreements in detail and manage approval by relevant business leaders. Develop and maintain multi-sourcing plans for all key materials.
  • Engage with all internal customers and external suppliers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Align procurement activities with broader company strategies.
  • Establish and prepare department reporting such as commodity market trackers, budgets, forecasts, inventory updates, and cost savings records. Effectively communicate raw material/packaging material price adjustments to key Pilot stakeholders.
  • Support new product development by finding new raw materials, ensuring selected raw materials are readily available and cost effective in the long term, and developing scale up economics.
  • Integrate procurement planning into the monthly SIOP process.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Responsible Care Management System®
  • Conduct market assessments, manage requests for proposals, and perform risk evaluations to support strategic procurement decisions.
Required Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or technical subject. APCIS Supply Chain certification(s) desired
  • 5 years of sales or procurement experience
  • Proven capability in sourcing, contracting, and managing post-award procurement processes.
  • Agile and collaborative team player capable of interfacing effectively with suppliers and multiple internal teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence key business decisions.
  • Chemical Industry knowledge, particularly petrochemical and oleochemical value chains
