Job description

Who we are
The $250B insurance claims industry runs on fax machines, phone tag, and adjusters buried in paperwork. Cycle times stretch for months. Data is locked in legacy systems. And the workforce is aging out faster than it's being replaced.
Vega is the premier AI-native claims TPA built to reimagine that entire stack from the ground up. Our team is equal parts experienced insurance operators and modern technologists. We care deeply about delivering superior outcomes for our clients, and we want builders that get their hands dirty shipping solutions that move the needle.
Our results: 10x YoY revenue growth, and on track for $XXM run-rate in under 2 years. Backed by marquee VCs like General Catalyst, Lightspeed, and Valor.
About the role
Vega Claims is growing at light speed, and we are officially opening our Active Talent Pipeline for Auto Claims Adjuster Generalists. We believe the best hires happen through relationships, and we're building a roster of top-tier talent so that when our next expansion phase hits, we're ready to move instantly.
In this role, you will play a critical part in creating a world-class claims experience by handling first- and third-party claims end-to-end. Your scope includes physical damage, high-severity bodily injury, and cargo losses. Additionally, you will drive claims success through Third-Party Administrator (TPA) oversight and partner across departments to pilot cutting-edge AI innovations. If you have a passion for technical excellence and want to build the future of claims, let's start the conversation.
We're a distributed team across Columbus, OH, New York, NY, Atlanta, GA, and Chile. This role is a hybrid position based out of our Atlanta office.
What you'll do
  • End-to-End Claim Adjudication: Analyze coverage based on facts of loss and make informed liability decisions, including complex comparative negligence assessments across first- and third-party claims.
  • Injury, Cargo & Property Settlement: Evaluate settlement demands and negotiate resolutions for bodily injury, physical damage, and cargo losses directly with claimants, insureds, and attorneys.
  • Reserve & Severity Management: Collaborate with claims leadership on reserve adjustments, severity evaluations, and high-value claim strategies up to $250k FDV.
  • TPA Oversight & AI Innovation: Drive claim success through external Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), leverage available data to identify claim trends, and work cross-functionally to test and pilot AI-native claims innovations.
  • Customer Guidance & Special Projects: Provide empathetic, clear updates to all stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle while taking on special projects as an individual contributor to advance organizational goals.

About You
  • 5+ years of recent experience in auto claims adjudication, including direct experience with injury severity losses, physical damage, and cargo claims.
  • Experience handling claims up to $250k Full Direct Value (FDV).
  • Active Adjuster License in home or designated home state (New York licensing may be required within the first 3 months of employment).
  • Proficiency with estimating platforms and modern claims management software.
  • Proven track record of exceeding key operational targets, including cycle time, recovery rates, and settlement efficiency.
  • Mindset & Approach: Possess a bias-to-action, an owner mentality, a customer-centric focus, and the ability to thrive in a high-growth, ambiguous startup environment.

Nice to Haves
  • 3+ years of commercial auto and/or transportation claim handling experience.
  • TPA management or auditing experience.
  • Litigation management experience.
  • Independent adjuster licenses in New York.
  • Prior Insurtech or early-stage startup experience.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance
  • 401k with company match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Onsite gym
  • Coffee bar and snacks
  • Onsite parking
  • Monthly lunches

Vega offers a wide range of best-in-class, comprehensive benefits including 100% employer paid healthcare plans, an up to 4% 401k match program, paid time off, parental leave, wellness reimbursement, work-from-home stipend and more. Vega is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you're interested in this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. We'd like to consider you for this position and roles that may be a fit in the future.
