Job description


POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the general supervision of the Dining Services Manager, the part-time Dining Services Associate will perform various tasks including the preparation and cooking of food, serving and cleaning/sanitation which supports the operations of a large-scale food service operation.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Wash, scrape and deliver dishes
  • Clean and sanitize tables and other surfaces
  • Serve food
  • Prepare hot and cold food including cooking and cutting
  • Restock food
  • May perform cashiering and cash handling duties
  • Respond to customer inquiries or problems in a courteous manner
  • Assist with special event meals
  • Demonstrate civil and respectful interactions with others
  • Dress in proper work attire per department guidelines
  • Provide EXCEPTIONAL customer service
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent customer service; interpersonal and good communication skills required
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.)
  • Demonstrate commitment to EXCEPTIONAL customer service
  • Must be a motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) and be positive and respectful
  • Must possess a Food Handler card or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Must pass a background check.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Current Texas Food Handler Card
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, orally, in English

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position including flexible shifts between 5:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Must be able to move up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.
  • Evenings and weekends may be required.

SALARY: $10. per hour / up to 19 hours per week
