For nearly 70 years, Stella Maris has been a leading nursing home, providing Baltimore-area residents with a comprehensive range of health and residential services. We are currently recruiting for Dining Services Assistants (DSA) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our mission driven organization to provide excellent care to our residents.

Responsibilities
• Delivers, serves and retrieves prepared food accurately and in a timely manner, following department procedures. Makes corrections/substitutions as needed.
• Assures that all menu items and serving utensils needed for meal service are available and adequate prior to start of service.
• Follows all food handling regulations, to include proper wrapping, labeling, dating, and storage of food.
• Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Completes necessary pre-preparation or stocking of food items or supplies for future meals.
• Consistently uses correct sanitation procedures and equipment, to include proper handwashing, wearing hair net, and using plastic gloves.
• Assists nursing staff to ensure that all food handling and nutritional requirements and procedures are adhered to.
Requirements
Literacy and communication skills in English required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lb. and push cart weighing 300 lb.
Pleasant disposition and ability to work efficiently under pressure required.
Excellent Customer Service Skills.
Must be able to work as part of a team.
