Job description

The Daily Docket Café is seeking a skilled Line Cook with a strong background in classic breakfast and diner-style cooking to join our fast-paced kitchen team! You'll be responsible for preparing high-quality, made-to-order meals with speed, accuracy, and consistency. This position also includes light prep work, supporting grab-and-go production, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cook and plate made-to-order breakfast and diner-style items with accuracy and speed
  • Execute eggs, griddle, and short-order dishes to specification and consistency standards
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before service begins
  • Monitor hot and cold holding temps and ensure all food is held safely
  • Follow proper prep, labeling, and rotation protocols to maintain freshness and reduce waste
  • Keep cook line and prep areas fully stocked throughout the shift
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, including equipment, surfaces, and tools
  • Assist in preparing and packaging grab-and-go items during non-peak hours
  • Communicate with team members to keep orders moving smoothly and efficiently
  • Alert supervisor or front counter team when low on ingredients or prep items
  • Adhere to portion control and plating guidelines to maintain quality and consistency
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience cooking breakfast and diner fare in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong multitasking skills and a sense of urgency during service
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Available to work early mornings
