POSITION SUMMARY
The HP T240 Digital Press Operator for 2nd shift is responsible for work performed on the HP Pagewide Inkjet press with the Hunkeler PF7 finishing equipment running inline. Job functions include producing color printed material. Additional functions include troubleshooting and cost-effective use of consumables. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing the work to job specifications as well as in accordance with our safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and process reliability expectations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prioritizes daily work load.
• Understands all systems and manufacturing capabilities and processes and looks for opportunities to streamline workflow.
• Inspects printed material in accordance with the work instructions to ensure quality and consistency.
• Makes all appropriate updates to systems and logs.
• Utilizes Production software to log print time for each job.
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on the press.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems on the press.
• Reviews job specifications in their entirety prior to starting the job and follows the instructions accurately.
• Advises supervisor of job specifications in question.
• Reports all production related problems to supervisor.
• Meets all defined departmental standards for quality, productivity, efficiency and waste.
• Keeps work area neat, clean and well organized.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding employee, company and customer information.
• Responsible for the successful completion of assigned tasks and projects.
• Complies with all safety and health policies, procedures and practices; actively supports safety improvement initiatives; uses materials and equipment in an appropriate and safe manner; carries out all tasks in a manner so as to not create a hazard to oneself or others.
• Supports organizational goals and values.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Identify different types of paper stock used for jobs
• Change and thread new rolls of stock as needed
• Setup and maintain the Hunkeler PF7 Finishing line.
Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma/GED or higher degree
• 3-5 years' experience in a printing / production environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrates an understanding of color theory, imposition and printing.
• Ability to quickly diagnose print and mechanical problems.
• Ability to push/roll a paper roll from staging area to paper feeder area weighing up to 35 lbs
• Demonstrates good troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively and efficiently maintain and repair the press.
• Shows initiative for learning and retaining mechanical skill associated with the Digital Press.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy; monitors own work to ensure quality; exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
• Reacts well under pressure and manages competing demands.
• Follows instructions and responds to management direction; listens and gets clarification.
• Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently - excellent time management skills
• Demonstrates professional behavior when communicating and working with other employees, vendors and/or customers.
• Promotes and ensures effective communication and interaction among departments.
• Works overtime as assigned
