Job description

An established and growing dealership group in the RV and automotive industry is seeking a skilled Service Manager to lead service, parts, and warranty operations. This leadership role oversees a team of technicians and service professionals to ensure customer satisfaction, efficient workflow, and compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with proven leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Core ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
  • Recruit, train, and develop service department personnel, including technicians, service advisors, and administrative staff.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative work culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and establish professional development goals.

Customer Service Excellence
  • Ensure high-quality customer interactions and prompt resolution of inquiries, concerns, and service issues.

  • Oversee scheduling, workflow, and workload balance to optimize turnaround times and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain a professional service environment that reflects the company’s standards of quality and integrity.

Operational Management
  • Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and operational standards.

  • Manage department budgets, monitor expenses, and oversee parts inventory and equipment maintenance.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Streamline workflow to maximize technician productivity and minimize downtime.

Technical Oversight
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

  • Stay informed of evolving RV systems, technologies, and service techniques.

  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers on warranty claims, training, and product updates.

Performance Monitoring
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customer satisfaction, repair turnaround, and revenue targets.

  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement performance-driven strategies.

Sales Collaboration
  • Coordinate with sales teams to ensure pre-delivery inspections and warranty repairs are completed efficiently.

  • Identify and promote upsell opportunities for service packages and maintenance programs.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in service management within the RV, automotive, or similar industry.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.

  • Technical proficiency with RV systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, chassis, etc.).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience using service management software and digital tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and improve operational outcomes.

  • Working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance standards.

Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, management, or automotive technology preferred.

  • Industry certifications such as RVIA or RVDA are highly desirable.

Physical & Work Requirements
  • Regular movement between office, shop, and outdoor environments.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate to heavy objects.

  • Occasional travel for training, vendor meetings, or industry events.
