Job description

About MTSI's SkillBridge Program
MTSI is committed to supporting transitioning service members through the DoW SkillBridge Program, providing an opportunity to gain meaningful civilian work experience during the final months of active duty. This program is designed to bridge the gap between military service and the civilian workforce through structured training and hands-on, mission-aligned experience.
As a Technical Program Manger SkillBridge Fellow, you will be embedded within real teams supporting active programs that contribute to national security and some of the nation's most technically complex challenges. Throughout the experience, you will gain exposure to MTSI's employee-first culture, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and build the skills needed to successfully transition into a civilian career.
This is a structured training experience designed to support your transition from military service to a civilian career. While many fellows are considered for full-time opportunities, offers are based on performance and business needs. Participation is subject to command approval and DoW SkillBridge eligibility requirements.
What to expect as a Technical Program Manger SkillBridge Fellow at MTSI:
During the Technical Program Manger SkillBridge Fellowship, you will contribute to meaningful training activities while developing practical, transferable skills in a civilian environment. You will gain exposure to how complex programs are executed, how teams collaborate across functions, and how your military experience translates into industry.
You will work alongside cross-functional teams, participate in meetings and program reviews, and support structured training activities tied to real-world projects. Along the way, you will receive mentorship, feedback, and professional development support to help guide your transition.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership:
  • Oversee the technical execution and integration of PMAS tools within DEE infrastructure to support the Space Based Interceptor program.
  • Develop and maintain technical plans aligned with program priorities, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of milestones.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, analysts, and IT professionals, while effectively coordinating technical efforts across classified projects.

Technical Oversight:
  • Ensure DEE-based systems and PMAS tools are implemented, optimized, and maintained for supporting mission-critical operations, including data protection, interoperability, and scalability.
  • Monitor the performance of technical solutions, identifying risks and resolving issues efficiently to maintain program continuity.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for DEE and PMAS technologies.

Program Management:
  • Track program and system performance against technical and operational goals, ensuring alignment with stakeholder requirements.
  • Manage program documentation, including program charters, risk registers, technical roadmaps, and progress reports for leadership review.
  • Actively support Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation and compliance across all technical systems.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with government representatives, contractors, and internal business partners to ensure PMAS technology aligns with DEE protocols and broader program objectives.
  • Deliver technical briefings, presentations, and updates to senior leadership, providing clear and actionable insights into program progress.
  • Guide teams through technical challenges, providing solutions that prioritize mission success and cybersecurity compliance.

Compliance and Security:
  • Ensure adherence to DoD standards, policies, and practices, including DISA STIGs, RMF compliance, and other applicable cybersecurity protocols.
  • Support secure data handling practices and enterprise technology standards throughout the Space Based Interceptor program.

Required Qualifications
  • Active duty service member eligible for the DoW SkillBridge Program
  • Participation approved (or in process) through command channels
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience leading or supporting projects, programs, or operational efforts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Areas of Alignment
Fellows will be aligned to teams based on their experience, interests, and business needs across MTSI's core Capability Focus Areas (CFAs), including:
• Software Engineering
• Autonomy & Artificial Intelligence
• Systems Engineering & Integration
• Mission Assurance & Cybersecurity
• Acquisition & Program Management
• Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis
• Test & Evaluation
• Digital Transformation
What You'll Gain
This experience is designed to prepare you for long-term success in the civilian workforce while providing meaningful exposure to mission-driven work.
Through this program, you will:
  • Gain hands-on experience supporting mission-critical programs
  • Build an understanding of civilian technical, program, and operational environments
  • Receive mentorship and professional development support
  • Expand your professional network within the defense industry
  • Be considered for full-time employment opportunities based on performance and business need
