Job description

As a Print Production Specialist, you will be responsible to convert client requests to job flow, that includes creating invoices, job tickets, and scheduling production using our cut-sheet digital printers. You will be in charge of calibrating printers and color-matching projects against our client's Pantone colors / previous jobs. You will also manage the service and maintenance of the machines as needed.
This is an excellent position for someone interested in entering the industry and building a lasting career.
You will also be trained to assist our large format department in printing, production, and installation projects. Primary examples of projects that need assistance are vehicle graphics and wall mural projects that require a second installer.
The primary responsibility of the Print Production Specialist is to operate and complete all digital printing (B&W/Color) production for maximum production efficiency.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating digital commercial printers using Fiery Command Workstation.
  • Assisting in our large format department with installations & production work when available 
  • Responsible for imposing files for print & running USPS mail software
  • Works with Center Manager to prioritize and manage daily job production
  • Produces orders accurately, efficiently, and quickly while maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Always runs a proof copy and compares it to the work order
  • Completes Quality Assurance documents for all printed jobs
  • Maintains all Digital Printing Equipment logs
  • Ensures that all service “clicks” are credited by the service technician in each call, including credit for poor-quality copies
  • Calibrates and manages all color devices as required to maintain color consistency.
  • Monitors color consistency during all print runs and make adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Digital printing experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred but not required: to interact with clients to ensure meeting their expectations, follow up on pending requests, approvals etc. 
  • Ability to multi-task and organize several activities and tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if needed.
  • Ability to maximize profit through the efficient use of time and equipment.
  • Can perform basic bindery functions.
  • Familiar and comfortable with Fiery Print Controller, a plus.
  • Graphic design skills are preferred but not required.
