Overview

Under general supervision, set-up, monitor, operate, and maintain digital printing systems. Responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical operations to meet daily production goals within job and quality specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate digital printers at a level that meets production and quality requirements.
  • Read and execute job tickets within customer quality requirements.
  • Maintain quality while attaining a high speed of output.
  • Use the print management system effectively.
  • Understand and use proofs in checking printing attributes.
  • Produce jobs utilizing the most cost-efficient method of production and/or programming.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement programs.
  • Perform basic scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Operation of bindery/finishing equipment. 

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent required. Associate’s degree in graphic design or printing preferred.
  • Five (5) year’s digital printing experience.
  • One (1) year digital press operations experience.
  • One (1) year of bindery equipment operations.
  • Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must remain current in machine operations technology and satisfactorily complete required training programs.
  • Proficient with current industry standard PC applications and systems.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds in order to load and unload paper stock.
  • Ability to make decisions within scope of responsibility where operational guidelines or procedures are nonexistent Ability to proficiently operate printing presses.
  • Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
