The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a dynamic and diverse team member to join us in the role of Digital Platforms Specialist in Wixom, MI.

TheDigital Platforms Specialist supports the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of Detroit PBS's digital ecosystem. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Digital Platforms, this role is centered on platform operations and systems enablement, ensuring that websites, apps, email systems, video platforms, and live streaming services function efficiently, integrate effectively, and scale to support audience growth and Detroit PBS's Subscriber Model. This position helps maintain system health, streamline workflows, and enable consistent execution across teams, supporting the full audience journey from discovery to sustained membership.

This role ensures those platforms operate as a connected, high-performing system that supports the Subscriber Model by moving audiences from awareness to engagement to sustained membership. By improving platform performance, strengthening data integrity, and streamlining workflows, this position reduces friction, increases speed to execution, and enables more effective conversion of audience engagement into long-term member relationships.

Essential Functions
  • Support and maintain the station's digital platforms and distribution systems, including websites, apps, video services, and live streaming platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability.
  • Administer and optimize platform tools including WordPress, HTML/CSS environments, PBS Media Manager, PBS Curate, intranet systems, Eventbrite, YouTube, and live streaming infrastructure.
  • Support the setup, execution, and monitoring of live streaming events across platforms, ensuring reliable delivery, quality control, and timely troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with content, production, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of live streams into digital platforms and audience experiences.
  • Execute and support email deployment processes, including builds, QA, scheduling, and delivery across platforms.
  • Partner with development, operations, and marketing teams to support audience segmentation, data flow, and database integrity.
  • Implement and support A/B testing frameworks and marketing automation workflows across email and digital platforms.
  • Monitor email and platform performance, identifying optimization opportunities that support subscriber growth, retention, and engagement.
  • Support data management practices that improve platform integration, reporting accuracy, and marketing execution.
  • Maintain and optimize platform features such as templates, modules, and pop-ups to support conversion goals including membership, donations, and newsletter sign-ups.
  • Assist with performance tracking and reporting across tools such as Domo and platform analytics dashboards, including live stream performance metrics.
  • Stay current on PBS digital products and tools such as Station Manager, Curate, and Media Manager, applying updates and enhancements as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent implementation of digital standards, workflows, and governance.
  • Ensure technical SEO best practices are implemented to improve discoverability and site performance.
  • Work with vendors and the platforms team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and system issues.
  • Identify and implement improvements to platform usability, workflows, and overall user experience.
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and compliance for internal digital platforms.
  • Maintain visibility across all Detroit PBS digital properties to ensure alignment, efficiency, and operational continuity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills
  • Experience managing and supporting CMS platforms such as WordPress and video platform systems.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and website structure.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and deployment workflows such as Iterable, Brevo, Mailchimp, or HubSpot.
  • Understanding of CRM systems and audience data management such as Salesforce, RevCRM, or HubSpot.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management, video workflows, or streaming platforms.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and Domo.
  • Experience supporting A/B testing, automation workflows, and performance optimization.
  • Basic experience with design or video tools such as Canva, Photoshop, or Premiere Pro for platform support purposes.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, QA, and system reliability.
  • Ability to document workflows and translate technical processes for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple systems and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience supporting digital platforms, systems, or marketing technology.
  • Demonstrated experience working with CMS platforms and digital tools in an operational or support capacity.
Physical DemandsIndividuals must be able to:

  • View screens and printed materials for long durations
  • Occasionally travel or work in the field as needed
