What You'll Do
  • Develop high-quality surface models that clearly communicate design intent across all stages of development, from initial sketches to refined production surfacing.
  • Assess design concepts for feasibility, surface integrity, and manufacturing considerations, offering strategic recommendations for optimization.
  • Deliver precise surface models within established timelines, adhering to specific quality standards for each project milestone.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and presentations of developed surface models.
  • Conduct and support comprehensive surface quality evaluations.

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design, transportation design, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in product design and engineering, with a strong emphasis on prototype development, advanced design, and production development within the automotive or similar complex product industries.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in industry-standard surfacing software and best practices for surface design, from conceptualization to Class-A surfacing.
  • Experience with advanced 3D modeling techniques, including subdivision modeling.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the product design development lifecycle.
  • Solid grasp of component design principles for manufacturability.
  • Ability to confidently interpret design input from sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency in working with engineering criteria and packaging constraints.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and effectiveness in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
