The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Data Scientist (GS-1560), Computer Scientist (GS-1550), or Operations Research Analyst (GS-1515), grade levels 13-14, to work as a Digital Information Dominance Officer for the Office of the Commander, Chief Data Office (CD), North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) Command and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), Colorado.
This is an interdisciplinary position: It may be filled with occupational series 1560, 1550, or 1515.
Recruitment, Relocation, Retention Incentives, Superior Qualification, and Advance Leave Accrual may be available based on experience.
Salary: ($129,096 - $167,830) based on experience.
Telework: 20% may be authorized based on supervisory approval.
Depending on the type of position you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

Qualifications/Requirements:
In this position you will serve as a Digital Information Dominance Officer for the North American Defense Command (NORAD) and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), Office of the Commander, Chief Data Office (CD). Responsible for providing strategic engagement support, requirements advocacy, and focused organizational competencies as well as building new digital enterprises in support of the Homeland Defense Mission of NORAD and USNORTHCOM. In this high-impact GS-14 role, you will pioneer data governance, advanced analytics, and enterprise architecture. Lead digital transformation by providing senior officials with cutting-edge, independent analysis to build resilient digital enterprises. Drive innovation, shape long-range data strategy, and maximize analytical capabilities to secure our Homeland Defense Mission.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
This is a designated drug testing position
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
This position includes Department of War (DoW) Cyberspace work and requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months.
Education Requirements:
To qualify, you must hold a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution with a major in Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a directly related field; OR hold a bachelor's degree that includes either 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science; OR at least 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or highly quantitative subject-matter courses. Additional Duties & Skills:
Duties include traveling to NORAD and USNORTHCOM mission sites, which may involve harsh Arctic environments and physically restrictive access.
Knowledge of systems analyses, concepts, and techniques in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine-learning (ML), data mining, deep learning, distributed computing, and data analytics.
Skill in applying advanced methods and research techniques to the solution of advanced networking, configuration, software, and hardware problems.
Ability to implement data solutions utilizing machine learning and predictive analytic techniques.
Ability to recommend cloud technology and possess cloud certifications (AWS, Microsoft, or Google).
Ability to create and implement a strategic vision for Data Operations.
HIGHLY DESIRED:
A Master's Degree in Operations Research or related technical disciplines such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable leadership experience as a "technology executive" in a software company.
