Minimum 10 years of hands-on electronics troubleshooting and repair experience at the component level.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Electronics Engineer / Repair Technician with strong hands-on diagnostic and repair skills specializing in electronic circuit boards, instrument clusters, automotive electronics, industrial control modules, and other electronic assemblies.

The ideal candidate must have extensive real-world experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, soldering, and testing electronic boards down to the component level, including identifying failed resistors, capacitors, ICs, transistors, MOSFETs, regulators, diodes, relays, and communication circuits.

This is a technical bench-level position requiring advanced analytical skills, precision soldering abilities, and deep understanding of electronic systems and PCB diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics of electronic circuit boards to the component level.
  • Diagnose failures using schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, thermal cameras, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Repair and replace defective electronic components including:
  • ICs
  • Microcontrollers
  • Capacitors
  • Resistors
  • Diodes
  • MOSFETs
  • Voltage regulators
  • Transistors
  • Connectors
  • Surface-mount (SMD) components
  • Conduct soldering and rework on multilayer PCBs and fine-pitch SMD components.
  • Troubleshoot power supply circuits, communication networks, CAN bus systems, LCD/display failures, backlighting systems, and embedded electronics.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Perform functional testing, calibration, and quality control verification after repair.
  • Maintain repair documentation, test reports, and repair records.
  • Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions or engineering improvements.
  • Work with automotive, industrial, commercial, or consumer electronic modules and assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe repair environment.
  • Assist with technical support and engineering evaluations when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of proven hands-on experience repairing electronic circuit boards to the component level.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
  • Extensive experience with:
  • PCB diagnostics
  • SMD soldering and rework
  • Microsoldering
  • Electronic testing equipment
  • Bench repair procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot without relying solely on automated diagnostic systems.
  • Experience identifying intermittent and heat-related failures.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of voltage regulation, signal tracing, communication circuits, and power management systems.
  • Experience working with automotive electronics, industrial electronics, instrument clusters, ECM/PCM/BCM modules, or similar systems preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Technology preferred.
  • IPC soldering certification is a plus.
  • Experience with EEPROM programming, firmware flashing, and microcontroller diagnostics preferred.
  • Knowledge of CAN Bus, LIN Bus, SPI, I2C, and UART communication systems preferred.
  • Experience with BGA rework and advanced board repair techniques is an advantage.
