Job description

The Media Asset Manager is responsible for the curating, organizing, documenting, cataloging and managing of all Detroit Lions digital assets. This will include the management of multiple storage servers, the asset management system and workflow for the One Pride Productions team. This role supports content production, communications, and external media partners, while assisting with the implementation and ongoing adoption of the club's media asset management system. This position will work out of both the Meijer Performance Center practice facility and the Ford Field stadium.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:
  • Curate, organize, document, catalog and overall management of all Detroit Lions digital assets including logging, media ingest, metadata entry, and asset organization.
  • Maintain all aspects of MAM and archival solutions including software, licensing, and support.
  • Manage seasonal employee and gameday staff in support of media management functions.
  • Assist with the continued implementation and ongoing operation of the club's media asset management system (Iconik).
  • Manage requests and distribute media assets to internal teams and external partners, broadcast networks and media outlets.
  • Upload/post finished product to the team's digital properties and FTP.
  • Collaborate with Football Communications department to continually develop, manage and maintain Detroit Lions digital historical archive.
  • Support real-time and post-game logging to ensure content is available quickly for editing, review, and distribution
  • Define workflows and implement processes for review and approve with internal and external users.
  • Support retroactive ingestion and tagging of legacy media assets to improve searchability and long-term usability.
  • Coordinate with Content, Marketing, and Communications teams to ensure timely access to approved assets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow established data governance, security, and confidentiality standards
  • Provide support during peak periods including game days, post-game coverage, and high-visibility events

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Communications or related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Media Asset Management required. Experience in professional/collegiate sports is preferred.
  • Proficiency with media asset management systems, metadata, tagging and storage management.
  • Experience encoding and editing within the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, particularly Media Encoder and Premiere Pro.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with the ability to clearly communicate.
  • Understanding of video codecs with proficiency encoding and formatting media for delivery across multiple platforms
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and non-traditional schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity in script writing and creating rundowns.
  • General understanding of NFL rules, teams, players and culture is a plus.
  • Due to the unique nature of this position, the candidate must be able to work extended hours during the NFL season and other events which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • May require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Allen Park Training Facility
