The Business Development Manager will play a critical role within the organization and is responsible for working with multiple business units to ensure strategic and profitable growth in new markets. This role reports directly to the Director of Sales. The Business Development Managers main responsibility will be developing new customers to gain new revenue in various applications, and to position for long term profitability.

What you will be doing:

  • Develops new business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Develop strategic business plans to facilitate profitable business growth in alignment with the company's established revenue goals.
  • Initiate and manage lead generation and prospecting efforts utilizing digital tools and tactics, while tracking effectiveness and engagement.
  • Meet established budgetary growth targets as defined annually by the business
  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison between customers and internal business units to facilitate productive communications, planning, and interactions; and resolutions for technical, commercial, quality, and/or delivery issues.
  • Ensure and aid the finance team in the pursuit of improved receivable collections.
  • Provide insight and participate in continuous improvement activities that will aid in the improvement of customer satisfaction, plant efficiency, and market growth.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Prioritize frequent face to face meeting with new and existing customers.
  • Accept ownership of the overall revenue goal and the individual revenue growth number.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations based on customer needs.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, marketing techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

What you must have:

  • Minimum of Five years Sales or Business Development experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing or Capital Equipment Industry Experience required.
  • Welding tool robotics or Polymer/Composites Experience Preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering sales growth by identifying and winning New Business Opportunities, working at all levels within the customers organization.
  • Ability to manage an opportunities pipeline via a CRM. Ability to generate accurate bookings and revenue forecasts, as well as effective sales status reports.
  • Ability to travel within North America, up to 50% travel likely.
