Job Title:
Principal Analyst I - Business Systems Analyst Digital Banking
Location:
OH - Columbus
What you'll do:
As a Principal Analyst I, supporting Digital Banking solutions, you'll lead activities to review current processes and metrics that support operational effectiveness, identify constraints or opportunities that inhibit or accelerate the business and technology strategy. You'll develop options or approaches to improve business outcomes, and drive implementation of solutions to achieve desired results. You'll also be accountable for the development and review of artifacts to ensure they accurately describe current state processes, practices, and/or metrics, determining root cause for constraints in the process. Additionally, you'll take part in the identification of alternative processes and practice options with associated impact on KRIs/KPIs or Operational Metrics. You'll also track and communicate enhancements to the current process and practices as to whether the desired results are being realized through the use of data, metrics, and other quantitative measures. Additionally, as the Principal Analyst I, you'll engage with enterprise subject matter experts and stakeholders to tackle complex issues or opportunities that require significant coordination and alignment across different business units. You'll be accountable for understanding the problem statement or opportunity, capturing current state insights while also providing options and recommendations to the identified stakeholders. In this role you'll also identify, socialize, and gather necessary approvals for the upkeep of, KRIs, KPIs, and Operational Metrics.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for digital banking systems, providing guidance on solution design, configuration, and process improvements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed system requirements, user stories with detailed acceptance criteria, and technical documentation to support effective development and testing.
  • Manage and maintain accurate documentation for digital banking applications, ensuring accessibility for business and technical teams.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of data structures and attributes to develop comprehensive data mapping strategies for system migration initiatives.
  • Implement application configuration changes, ensuring adherence to SDLC and Change Management protocols.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams, external vendors, and implementation partners to resolve issues and deliver integrated digital banking solutions.
  • Monitor key digital banking platform performance indicators-such as app ratings, transaction volume, feature adoption, and account closures-to drive growth and satisfaction and proactively resolve issues through root cause analysis aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Leverage collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) and Confluence for workstream management and stakeholder communication.
  • Maintain data integrity, security, and privacy standards across digital banking platforms.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve solution delivery practices and tools within the digital banking team.

What you'll need:
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing and migrating third-party digital banking solutions, including integration of external platforms and overseeing end-to-end deployment.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced to expert in process and data analysis within one or two domains or functional areas with deep critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into comprehensive system requirements and articulate application configurations that meet both operational and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem and incident management processes, including leading Root Cause Analysis and resolving high-impact issues.
  • Strong knowledge of data integrity, security, and privacy best practices, with a focus on maintaining high standards across digital banking platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including adapting to evolving requirements and supporting iterative development cycles.
  • Thorough knowledge of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) principles and their application to ensure accessible, inclusive digital banking user interfaces.
  • Experience working as a SME across one or two domains or functional areas.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Occasional travel required.
