Postdoctoral Fellow – Neuroimaging in Parkinson’s Disease

As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will engage in laboratory, translational, or clinical research under the direct guidance of a faculty member. A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Barrow Neuroimaging Innovation Center at the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) under the mentorship of Dr. Ashley Stokes. The fellow will contribute to a multidisciplinary research program focused on the development application and analysis of advanced MRI techniques to investigate neuropathological changes in Parkinson’s disease across both clinical and preclinical models. 
Daily, you will develop skills essential for your success as an independent investigator, including conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to scientific discourse and publications. Key methodologies include advanced diffusion and functional MRI for the assessment of brain connectivity and network integrity. 
Success in this role requires strong scientific curiosity, a rigorous research approach, a commitment to learning, and the ambition for leadership in your field. The successful candidate will join a dynamic collaborative team within an internationally recognized clinical research environment.

Required

  • Ph.D., post-baccalaureate M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor
  • Laboratory or clinical research at the post-baccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study,

Preferred

  • Experience writing research reports concerning own work and familiarity with a biomedical discipline
  • PhD in neuroscience biomedical engineering physics or a related discipline
  • Prior experience in MRI research and/or neurodegenerative disease models is highly desirable
