Job description

Summary: The Service Manager will be responsible for the complete operation of the Service Department. The Service Manager must work with the Fixed Operations Manager to strive to grow the department and make necessary decisions to maintain a profitable Service Department. The Service Manager will direct, and coordinate activities concerned with repair and maintenance of diesel engine vehicles, and operation and maintenance of truck service facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, monitor, and report on performance metrics including revenue, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Build and grow customer base and relationships.
  • Respond to customer concerns.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties.
  • Communicate policies, procedures, and company/department goals to employees.
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to develop skills and competencies of employees.
  • Assure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism in representing the Company to employees and customers.
  • Develop and implement a service growth plan and budget.

Education, Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Previous supervisory experience in Truck Service a must.
  • Experience with Proceed strongly encouraged
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.
  • Valid Driver's License
