Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Indianapolis, IN.     

This position will begin on the day shift (7:00 AM-3:30 PM) and will transition to the second shift (3:30 PM-12:30 AM). Applicants must be comfortable working both shifts.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Will preform chassis work (brakes etc.) as well as engine work.

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

This position will be cross trained to preform chassis work / Brakes ETC as well as engine work. 

-    This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

-    A current valid license is required for this role
-    Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
-    This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations 

-    A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
-    Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted 
  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution, locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
