Advantage Truck Group (ATG) has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Diesel Technician to join our Mobile Team. Mobile Technicians are responsible for on site repairs and fleet maintenance for customer accounts along with road-side repairs. This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled, efficient and knowledgeable technician to work independently.

  • Flat Rate Position, hourly pay rate : $21.00 - $56.00 D.O.E.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs work on repair order in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists
  • Do routine maintenance, oil changes, battery check, lubricating equipment and parts
  • Inspect, repair, or overhaul buses, trucks, and heavy equipment.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, etc.
  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results.
  • Communicates with service advisor/dispatcher immediately if additional work is needed
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run correctly after repair.

Desired Education and /or Experience

  • Four+ Years of Experience
  • Certificate from Technical or Trade School
  • Brakes Certification
  • Drive Train Certification
  • Diesel Engines Certification
  • Electrical/Electronic Systems Certification
  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Certification
  • Suspension and Steering Certification
  • Preventive Maintenance Inspection

Requirements

  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
  • CDL preferred
  • DOT health card required
  • Strong language and communication skills required and concise oral and written skills necessary
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to maintain stationary positions throughout the work day due
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform required tasks
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods
