Job Description: Diesel Technician

Department: Fleet Maintenance Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Manager of Fleet Maintenance

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for keeping our drivers safe and on the road. Diesel Mechanics are responsible for maintaining and servicing all trucks. Those services include oil changes, changing brakes, rebuilds, using Tech Tool to diagnose digital issues with trucks, and any other issues that might come up with our trucks.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintenance of fleet trucks.
  • Troubleshoot and complete repairs to all aspects and systems of the truck.
  • Keep correct documentation of all parts used, type of diagnosis, and services performed in the repair order.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.


EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience with 1+ year will all makes and models (preference to Volvo and Freightliner), C tech, B tech, or A tech certified. Pay will be based on level of experience. Must be self-driven with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work in a team environment. Must be able to follow given directions to complete tasks and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Volvo or Detroit certifications are a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None


COMPUTER SKILLS:

Basic computer skills and abilities to operate and utilize current diagnostic tools. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Solid work history and quality craftsmanship. Must be motivated, dependable, and able to focus while having a willingness to successfully function in a team environment. A valid driverโ€™s license is required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings. You will also need to maintain any and all safety certifications and standards necessary as set by management.
