Automotive Diesel Technician Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, and emissions systems
- Perform advanced diagnostics on drivability and performance concerns
- Use manufacturer diagnostic tools and service information
- Accurately document diagnostic findings and repairs performed
- Collaborate with service advisors to ensure clear repair explanations
- Follow manufacturer specifications and dealership quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Participate in ongoing technical training as assigned
Automotive Diesel Technician Compensation and Benefits
The Diesel Technician position is paid on a pay scale that may include one or more of the following compensation elements:
- Hourly compensation, which varies based on experience, certifications, skill level, and performance
- Productionbased incentive compensation, which may be earned based on individual and/or team productivity
- Retentionbased incentive compensation, which may be earned based on hours produced
The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $33.80 to $60.00 per hour. Actual compensation within this range will be determined by jobrelated factors such as experience, qualifications, performance, and business needs. Incentive and bonus compensation are not guaranteed and may be zero if applicable benchmarks are not met.

Automotive Diesel Technician Qualifications
- Diesel technician experience required
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills with diesel systems
- Experience with Ram or other diesel platforms preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fastpaced, productionoriented environment
- ASE diesel certifications are preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
