Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on our heavy-duty fleet, including concrete mixer trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers, loaders, Moffett forklifts, and diesel pickup trucks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, steering, cooling, and drivetrain systems.
  • Perform DOT inspections and safety repairs.
  • Complete work orders and document repairs.
  • Communicate repair status with the Fleet Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Respond to emergency roadside repairs as needed.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
  • Experience with Class 7 and Class 8 trucks.
  • Experience with heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical diagnostics.
  • Experience using diagnostic software.
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
  • Maryland State Inspection License and DOT Inspection Certification are a plus.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working indoors and outdoors.
