Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Insure the continued beauty and growth of the grounds and golf course through use of pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Experience working for golf course maintenance, to include work with pesticides and fertilizers, most knowledge can be gained in preparing for turf and ornamental license.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Job Requirements
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work with pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Ability to drive motor vehicles.
  • Ability to work with hand carried sprayer.
  • Ability to walk the property performing duties.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability go be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Gain specific knowledge of pesticides and fertilizers and their usage.
  • Prepare for and pass the Department of Agriculture's examines for the turf and ornamental license.
  • Renew turf and ornamental license as needed.
  • Follow all procedures for the safe handling of pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Responsible for the organization of the chemical room.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the chemical daily records, to include what chemicals were used, how much, in what machine, and the weather conditions.
  • Observe property for pest problems, identify, target, and treat.
  • Become proficient on all appropriate equipment, including hand carried sprayers, self-contained sprayers, and tractor drawn sprayers.
  • Learn how to read, translate, and map pesticide routes.
