Position Summary: Provide personal care services, assistance, support and supervision to residents, through RN delegation.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing services to each resident according to the resident service plan.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene, and mobility.
  • Monitor health, safety and well-being of the residents.
  • Document information pertaining to changes in residents' functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.
  • Maintain an accurate record of chargeable services and submit record to supervisor by the designated date each month.
  • Respond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention and/or follow up.
  • Launder residents' clothing, linen and towels; fold and return to residents.
  • Assist with minor housekeeping of residents' apartments.
  • Serve meals and bus tables during mealtimes as applicable.
  • Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
  • Encourage socialization among residents and promote activities, assisting with activities as requested.
  • Chaperone activities outside the facility when requested.
  • Maintain a safe, home-like, and pleasant environment for residents.
  • Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

  • At least one year experience as a CNA
  • Certified Nurse's Aide Certification
  • Basic First Aid Training
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in working with older adults

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Promote teamwork in providing services to resident.
  • State and Federal Guidelines for Assisted Living
  • HIPAA requirements
  • Safe food handling procedures
  • Nursing standards of practice for older adults
  • Skills in nurturing, organization, and interest in working with older adults

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior living
