Job description
General Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager of Operations A Bone Densitometry Technologist is to perform Bone Densitometry Scans. The responsibilities include various support and patient care activities. Must have excellent customer service skills and participate in quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Require completion of a formal radiographic technology program in an AMA-approved school and successful completion of board registry by ARRT or by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (aka ISCD).
- Require previous knowledge in the use of information systems and computer literacy.
- Current BLS certification - Basic life support.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Administer ionizing radiation in the production of radiographs.
- Will use the principle of As Low As Reasonably Achievable(ALARA) to minimize radiation dose.
- Demonstrate the appropriate knowledge of all protocols and procedures.
- Provides safe and effective patient care while performing duties of Radiologic Technologist.
- Utilize and effectively use all Radiology equipment and software in the performance of daily responsibilities.
- Maintain certifications, registrations, and education requirements of the hospital and accrediting body.
- Display consistent proficiency in using AIDET when communicating with patients, visitors, physicians, peers, managers, volunteers, internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
