Zions Bancorporation is seeking a Cloud Engineer with Cloud Infrastructure and Security skills for an excellent opportunity within our AI Platform Team. This Cloud Engineer person will establish Google Cloud foundations while on-boarding native cloud services to meet infrastructure and project specifications and needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Architect and optimize cloud environments for reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Define and implement platform enablement strategies, reusable patterns, and automation frameworks.
  • Establish and enforce cloud governance, security controls, and compliance standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Lead resolution of complex platform issues, including root cause analysis and long-term remediation.
  • Align cloud platform capabilities with business and product goals through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Build and manage a platform that empowers engineering teams, including data scientists and ML engineers, to deploy and scale their applications and models efficiently.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption of cloud engineering best practices.
  • Develop onboarding materials, technical documentation, and training resources for platform users.

Qualifications:
  • Some experience in cloud engineering, with a strong background in architecting and operating cloud environments at-scale.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, services, and security, with a proven track record of successful implementations.
  • Expert-level understanding of Terraform and related automation tools; experience with Ansible and Git.
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical initiatives, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Solid experience in DevSecOps, zero-touch automation, CI/CD Pipelines and shift-left security practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security principles, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong programming skills for automation and tooling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
