What does a DevOps Production Support Engineer do?

A DevOps Production Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the stability, reliability, and efficiency of software systems in production environments. They monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with development and operations teams to resolve incidents quickly. Their role often includes automating deployment processes, managing infrastructure, and implementing best practices for continuous integration and delivery. By ensuring systems run smoothly, they help minimize downtime and enhance the end-user experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a DevOps Production Support Engineer?

To thrive as a DevOps Production Support Engineer, you need a strong background in systems administration, scripting (such as Bash or Python), and cloud infrastructure, often supported by a degree in computer science or related certifications like AWS Certified SysOps Administrator. • Experience implementing automation or operational tooling to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Exposure to cloud-based observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering practices at scale
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional engineering and business teams in a fast-paced environment

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
