Job description

Overview
PowerPlan is seeking a hands-on, solutions-oriented DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure supporting our SaaS products. This role is essential to reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery across Azure and multi-cloud environments.
You'll combine deep technical skills in automation, container orchestration, infrastructure as code, and observability with a proactive, collaborative mindset - working closely with development, security, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement in how we build, ship, and run software.
About PowerPlan
PowerPlan helps the companies that power the world unlock greater value from their infrastructure investments. We combine deep industry expertise, trusted technology, and AI-driven innovation to help capital-intensive organizations manage the financial complexity of their assets with confidence.
We're in the middle of one of the most significant transformations in our history. Decades of proven functionality are being reimagined on a modern SaaS foundation, while AI becomes central to how we build, deliver, and evolve our products. The next generation of the PowerPlan platform is being designed right now. Join us, and you'll have the opportunity to influence the technology, engineering practices, and capabilities that will shape it for years to come.
Responsibilities
Your Impact
  • Evaluate and optimize CI/CD pipelines, implementing automated testing and rollback strategies across every environment.
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure in Azure using Terraform, following standardized infrastructure-as-code modules.
  • Triage and resolve DevOps-related support tickets within SLA, providing rotating on-call coverage with rapid incident resolution.
  • Build out log aggregation and metrics visualization so gaps in alerting and dashboards get closed, not just noticed.
  • Configure identity federation (SAML/OIDC) and manage Windows AD or Entra ID domains securely.
  • Deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes and Helm, documenting the process for reuse across teams.
  • Partner with multiple development Scrum teams to streamline DevOps collaboration and serve as the go-to contact for new project launches.
  • Review cloud spend and identify automations that reduce monthly cost.
What Success Looks Like
Within 90 days, you've mapped current CI/CD processes and identified the path to unifying Dev and Cloud pipelines. By 60 days, you're provisioning infrastructure through Terraform following standardized modules. By six months, you're the go-to DevOps partner for three or more Scrum teams, your dashboards catch problems before customers do, and you've found real cost savings other people missed.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • 3-5 years of CloudOps and/or DevOps experience supporting PaaS/SaaS environments.
  • Proficiency in Azure Cloud services - Data Factory, AKS, Key Vault, App Services, Storage Accounts.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and automation, and PowerShell for scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker for container orchestration and deployment.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, and Git for version control.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and Scrum/Kanban ceremonies.
Education & Experience
  • AZ-900 certification required; AZ-104 or AZ-400 preferred.
  • Experience configuring identity federation (SAML, OIDC, Okta) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible), infrastructure monitoring/APM/log aggregation, or MLOps is a plus.
