Job description

The Mobile team is hiring! We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. You will provide senior level mobile engineering services, including the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation, testing, automation, and integration of new or existing technologies and tools.

The Personal Investor Technology Mobile team develops the Vanguard mobile app for our clients. The team has grown rapidly over the past several years and we have established a dedicated Mobile DevOps team. We are now expanding the DevOps team to further develop our mobile CI/CD pipeline, test automation, app store publishing management and other DevOps functions.

What You'll Do

  • Mobile DevOps to support iOS, Android and React Native app development

  • Work cross-functionally with other Mobile product teams to deliver unified value

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least two years of development experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; graduate degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of Github, Github Actions and Fastlane.

  • Demonstrated experience with AWS infrastructure tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.

  • Self-motivation and a strong passion for collaboration and partnership.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to work across multiple functions spanning various levels of the organization.

  • Strong project execution skills, attention to detail and quality, and a risk-mitigation mentality.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Unix / Linux / Mac shell scripting

  • Understanding of mobile platforms differences, advantages and platform-specific hardware and software limitations of mobile ecosystem

  • Understanding of mobile applications development and release cycles, including implementing new features and sunsetting old features for deprecated devices

  • Familiarity with app store submission processes, guidelines, and review criteria for both Apple App Store and Google Play Store

  • Mobile app development on iOS (Xcode/Swift), Android (Android Studio/Kotlin)or React Native (TypeScript/JavaScript)

  • Familiarity with using mobile analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, Splunk) to drive data-informed decisions

  • Knowledge of Mac/MacOS including command-line (Terminal)
