Job description

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new clients and project opportunities within target markets
  • Track and manage leads, opportunities, and client interactions
  • Attend industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings to expand REDD Engineering's presence

Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with industrial clients and key decision-makers
  • Regularly visit client facilities and job sites (anticipated travel ~30% depending on company and client needs)
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new project opportunities and client inquiries

Strategic Planning

  • Analyze market conditions, client activity, project cycles, and internal staffing levels to determine which clients and prospects to engage and when in collaboration with Business Development team, Business Manager, and Production Manager
  • Develop targeted outreach strategies aligned with anticipated project timelines, client decision windows, and projected fluctuations in company workload
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team, Production Manager, and Business Manager to align pursuits with company capacity and strategic priorities

Proposal Development

  • Coordinate the end-to-end process for RFPs, RFQs, and other client solicitations from kickoff through final delivery
  • Lead the preparation of proposals and qualifications packages
  • Work with engineering/design staff to define project scope, approach, and fee estimates
  • Coordinate with subconsultants and subcontractors to assemble project pricing

Project Initiation

  • Support the transition of awarded projects to internal project teams
  • Assist with early project planning and client coordination to ensure a smooth kickoff

Department Development

  • Develop and maintain business development resources including presentations and marketing materials
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the company CRM to support opportunity tracking, client history, and market intelligence
  • Document client feedback, relationship insights, and market observations to strengthen institutional knowledge and future pursuits
  • Prepare reports and summaries for company leadership to help assess business development performance, market trends, and strategy effectiveness
  • Assist in developing and improving internal business development processes, templates, and tools
  • Support internal business development initiatives that improve team efficiency and strengthen REDD Engineering's market presence

Qualifications

  • 515+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client management
  • Experience in consulting, industrial or commercial engineering, construction, or related services
  • Strong understanding of engineering or construction project delivery
  • Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets
  • Comfortable meeting clients on-site and developing long-term professional relationships
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and able to manage opportunities independently
