Direct Support Professional
Thomasville, GA | $15.00/ Hour
We are looking for a direct support professional to provide high-quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will assist individuals in achieving greater independence, improving their daily living skills, and enhancing their overall well-being
Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with cognitive disorders, ensuring their well-being and comfort
  • Assist individuals with daily personal tasks, promoting independence while offering necessary support
  • Offer companionship, fostering positive relationships and enhancing social engagement
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, including vacuuming, dishwashing, and tidying, to maintain a clean and organized living environment
  • Coordinate and arrange transportation, ensuring safe and timely travel for appointments or community activities
  • Shop for groceries and prepare nutritious meals tailored to specific dietary needs and preferences
  • Support individuals in engaging with the community, facilitating meaningful social interactions
  • Assist with various activities and programs at the center, promoting development, enjoyment, and personal growth
Requirements
  • Clean Drug Test
  • Willing to undergo criminal background check
  • CPR Certified or willing to become certified
  • Comfortable working with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Be self-motivated and stay on task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift 25+ lbs individually
  • Occasional assisted lifting 200+ lbs
