A Developer Project Manager is a professional who oversees software development projects from inception to completion. They bridge the gap between technical development teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Their responsibilities include planning project timelines, coordinating team members, managing risks, and tracking progress. Developer Project Managers often have a background in software development, which helps them understand technical challenges and communicate effectively with developers.

What does a Developer Project Manager do?

A Developer Project Manager often wears two hats—leading the project while contributing technically. Balancing these responsibilities requires strong time management and prioritization skills. Generally, the project manager will allocate specific hours for coding or technical reviews and dedicate separate blocks for meetings, planning, and stakeholder communication.
