What You'll Do
Project Work
  • Lead and manage hydrologic and hydraulic modeling projects within the Engineering Department
  • Perform production tasks such as hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and preparing written technical reports
  • Execute comprehensive project oversight including planning, tracking, scope and change management, risk mitigation, and quality assurance across the project team
  • Produce and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic technical work including studies, calculations, models, and reports
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subconsultants, and internal teams for projects under your supervision
  • Develop proposals, budgets, and ensure projects meet time and financial goals
  • Ensure compliance with department standards and resolve project conflicts
  • Track expenditures, approve invoices, and prepare progress reports
  • Continually develops knowledge of water resources and environmental regulations, engineering best practices, and industry standards through hands-on experience and continuing professional education

Client Relationship / Employee Development / Business Development
  • Own and cultivate client relationships, resolving issues and identifying new opportunities
  • Expand your professional network and influence by participating in industry organizations, attending networking events, and building relationships that support talent identification and business growth
  • Meet with current clients regularly or as needed to gather feedback and strengthen partnerships
  • Mentor and support the development of department staff

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • PE license in Indiana
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in water resources engineering
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects over time
  • Experience supporting and mentoring engineers
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, HY-8) as well as GIS (ArcMap, ArcPro)

Bonus Qualifications
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
