Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for coordinating engineering projects, processes, and cross-functional execution across the engineering organization. This role ensures the successful movement of projects from customer intake through engineering release and production readiness. The position serves as a key operational partner across engineering functions, helping drive alignment, visibility, and scalable processes as MXS continues to grow. The Engineering Project Manager partners closely with the Design, Manufacturing, and Applications engineering teams, as well as Operations, to improve engineering workflows, establish scalable processes, and provide visibility into engineering project performance.

We are offering relocation assistance for this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Manage engineering workflows from project intake through production release
·         Coordinate cross-functional communication between Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Operations
·         Lead  development and implementation of engineering stage-gate and handoff processes
·         Maintain engineering schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource planning activities
·         Facilitate engineering review meetings and track action items to completion
·         Develop and maintain reporting tools and performance metrics for engineering projects
·         Identify project risks, scheduling conflicts, and process gaps and escalate issues as appropriate
·         Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering operations, project execution, and organizational scalability
·         Assist with engineering documentation control and process standardization
·         Partner with leadership to support operational planning and organizational scalability
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience: 
·         8+years of engineering or technical project management, or operational leadership experience preferred
·         Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
·         Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams and complex technical projects
·         Experience implementing process improvements and operational workflows preferred
Preferred Skills:
·         Project Management Professional (PMP)
·         Strong project management and organizational skills
·         Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
·         Experience with engineering workflows, handoff processes, and scheduling coordination
·         Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Education: 
·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Operations Management, or related technical discipline preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights.  When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used, as necessary.
