Job description

As a Senior Advanced Quality Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality standards in our diversity of Industrial Automation products. You will leverage your expertise to drive quality initiatives, implement robust testing protocols, and enhance product reliability, ultimately contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work within an AS9100 manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with defense and aerospace industry standards and regulations. Your strong technical background and experience in quality engineering will be essential in driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

You will report directly to our Plant Director, and you'll be based onsite as the functional lead Quality person in our Woonsocket, RI location, providing guidance to onsite Quality personnel.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment within the aerospace and defense industries.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies such as Six Sigma and AS9100 / ISO9100 quality standards.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions, as well as internal audits
  • Proficiency in quality analysis tools and techniques, including statistical process control and failure mode effects analysis.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics

  • Experience in ITAR classification and compliance
  • Experience with quality assurance software and tools for tracking and reporting quality metrics.
  • Additional certifications in quality field, such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE).
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, fostering a culture of quality and excellence across the organization.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry advancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engaging with production, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on quality conformance, while delivering prioritization and support to onsite Quality team.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 manufacturing standards and regulations including performing as lead internal auditor and QMS representative
  • Manage tough conversations with demanding aerospace customers and regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer requirements and ensure external regulatory compliance (FAA, UL, CSA)
  • Provide technical expertise and support in quality engineering processes including MRB, contract review, and Change Control Boards (CCB)
  • Foster a proactive, customer-focused quality culture within the organization
