Job description

Job#: 3046281
Job Description:
Scrum Master
Location: Southlake, Texas (Hybrid)
Role Overview
As a Scrum Master, you will have a hands-on role in managing the Scrum process within software development teams. You will help teams adopt and improve on the Scrum methodology, coaching them to higher levels of maturity. As a servant-leader, you will lead dedicated teams to deliver business value through their development and delivery execution, working with Product Owners to ensure the appropriate development and delivery of the prioritized backlog.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Scrum Master for two or more Agile teams simultaneously, providing leadership, direction, and coaching.
  • Organize and facilitate Scrum meetings, including backlog grooming, Sprint planning, daily Scrum, Sprint review, and Sprint retrospective.
  • Remove impediments preventing the team from accomplishing its Sprint goals and escalate as appropriate.
  • Support the Product Owner by assisting with backlog and release plan maintenance.
  • Work with and coach Product Owners to develop, manage, and continuously groom the team's product backlog.
  • Track and communicate team velocity, Sprint/release progress, and impediments to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination and collaboration when projects require it.
  • Ensure that all information needed for the team's progress and successes is highly visible to all stakeholders.
  • Assist the team in establishing a consistent and predictable team level cadence.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: This role requires 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master and 5+ years of experience in a software development environment, preferably involving cross-team dependencies. Candidates must have 3+ years of experience owning and managing customer expectations, project schedules, status reporting, and change management. Experience leading teams in a large, complex enterprise environment is necessary, along with demonstrated success in scaling AI-Assisted software development across multiple teams.
Technical Skills: A thorough understanding of the Scrum process, Agile values, and principles is required. This includes knowledge of backlog grooming, relative estimating, release and Sprint planning, Scrum metrics (e.g., Sprint burndown, release burnup, velocity), and various retrospective techniques. A strong grasp of software development, technology, and project management fundamentals is essential.
Professional Skills: Candidates must exhibit servant leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution. The role requires an attitude of empowerment to lead a team to self-organization, transparency to build trust, and situational awareness to identify and elevate issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience with one or more scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, DAD, Nexus).
  • Previous experience as a traditional project and/or program manager.
  • DevOps experience, including continuous integration, continuous build, and continuous delivery tools and techniques.
