Job description

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Reliability Engineer to design, automate, operate, and optimize enterprise-scale Microsoft Hyper-V virtual infrastructure. The role requires strong expertise in Windows Server, Hyper-V clustering, storage, networking, infrastructure automation, and Terraform/Infrastructure as Code.

Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering across virtualization, Windows Server, storage, and networking.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, including Failover Clustering, Live Migration, Hyper-V Virtual Switch, and Storage Spaces Direct (S2D).
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience, including WMI and DSC.
  • Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management.
  • Experience with Hyper-V cluster deployment, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of storage and virtual networking, including SAN, VLAN, SET, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with infrastructure performance analysis, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD and infrastructure automation at enterprise scale.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize enterprise-scale Hyper-V clusters and virtual infrastructure.
  • Manage Windows Server and Hyper-V lifecycle activities, including provisioning, upgrades, patching, and cluster operations.
  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Terraform, DSC, WMI, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, compliance, remediation, and decommissioning.
  • Design and optimize storage and networking configurations across virtualized environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure performance across compute, storage, networking, and hypervisor layers.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance benchmarking, and root cause analysis to improve reliability and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Support infrastructure architecture, technical design documentation, and engineering standards.
  • Plan and execute cluster upgrades and infrastructure changes with minimal production impact.
  • Collaborate with security, hardware, networking, operations, and capacity planning teams.
  • Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization.
Preferred Skills
  • C# / .NET development for infrastructure or orchestration platforms.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi or KVM.
  • Microsoft System Center (SCVMM, SCOM, SCCM).
  • Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.
