Job description

Position Type: Full-time We are seeking a Technical Manager for Cloud Platform Engineering, DevOps, ITAR &
FedRAMP to lead the engineering practices, platform operations, and compliance-focused cloud
infrastructure supporting our industry-disrupting analytics platforms. This individual will be
responsible for the management, deployment, uptime, scalability, and security of our core cloud
services, with a particular focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments and the
technical implementation of ITAR and FedRAMP requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who combines deep hands-on experience in cloud
platform engineering and DevOps with proven success implementing regulated cloud
environments. This role requires someone who can lead engineers, work cross-functionally with
security and compliance stakeholders, and drive technical maturity across infrastructure,
automation, observability, reliability, and governance. This is an exceptional opportunity for
someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and wants to shape our technical
architecture, operational practices, and future roadmap. Key Responsibilities  Lead the cloud platform engineering and DevOps function responsible for the reliability,
scalability, security, and performance of core analytics platforms.
 Own the architecture, operation, and continuous improvement of Google Cloud
Platform (GCP) environments supporting production and regulated workloads.
 Manage and mentor cloud platform engineers and DevOps personnel, setting technical
direction, engineering standards, and operational best practices.
 Drive implementation and maintenance of technical controls required for ITAR and
FedRAMP compliance.
 Lead efforts to prepare applications and environments for FedRAMP assessment,
authorization, and ongoing compliance sustainment.
 Ensure platform availability and performance meet or exceed defined SLAs.
 Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, runbook development, and operational
follow-through to improve reliability over time.
 Expand platform automation to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support
scaling across environments.
 Build and mature observability practices to detect incidents as early as possible and
improve mean time to resolution.
 Partner with engineering, security, product, and leadership stakeholders to review
environments regularly and identify cloud cost optimization opportunities.
 Lead the design and operation of secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
workflows.
 Oversee cloud networking, access controls, and security architecture across VPCs,
subnets, firewalls, DNS, load balancers, and VPN configurations.
 Support deployment patterns involving microservices, containers, serverless
infrastructure, and orchestration platforms.
 Maintain clear technical documentation for architecture, processes, controls, and
operational procedures. Required Qualifications  Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to support CI Polygraph processing.
 12+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud
Platform Engineering, or related roles.
 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
 Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure with a focus on scalability, security,
resiliency, and high uptime.
 Proven experience implementing ITAR technical controls.
 Proven experience supporting applications through the FedRAMP process.
 Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
 Strong experience with DevOps methodologies and building robust CI/CD pipelines.
 Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus,
ELK, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, or similar tools.
 Experience with microservices, containerization, serverless infrastructure, and
orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud Run.
 Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
 Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and access management, including
VPCs, subnets, firewalls, DNS, load balancers, and VPNs.
 Strong scripting or programming skills in Bash, Go, and/or Python.
 Demonstrated ability to work effectively across distributed teams and time zones with
strong communication and coordination skills. Preferred Qualifications  Houston, TX-based or willing to relocate.
 Deep hands-on expertise with GCP services such as Google Compute Engine (GCE),
Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and
BigQuery.
 Experience with GitHub Actions.
 Experience with ISO 27001.
 Familiarity with or experience supporting CMMC Level 2 environments.
 Prior experience leading or managing platform, infrastructure, or DevOps teams in
regulated or national security environments.
