Working closely with senior engineers, architects, and SWAT leadership, this position plays an important part in maintaining secure, stable, and scalable cloud infrastructure.
Your role:
Incident Response & Resiliency
  • Support incident response efforts by ensuring GCP infrastructure is secure, resilient, and ready for rapid action.
  • Apply threat intelligence updates, security controls, and hardening requirements into GCP operational workflows.
  • Execute established disaster recovery and failover procedures to minimize downtime and data loss during incidents.

Automation & Optimization
  • Build and maintain automation using Terraform, Ansible, or GCP-native tools to streamline provisioning, configuration, and deployments.
  • Assist with Kubernetes/GKE infrastructure operations to ensure workload reliability and consistency.
  • Monitor and optimize compute, network, and storage utilization for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Governance & Compliance
  • Enforce cloud governance, security baselines, and compliance requirements across GCP environments following InfoSec policies.
  • Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation for operational tasks, processes, and configuration changes.
  • Support continuous compliance checks and remediation activities.

  • Participate in modernization and resiliency initiatives under the RISE program by executing tasks aligned to global strategy.
  • Provide operational support for cross-functional teams consuming GCP services.

Operational Execution
  • Perform daily operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of GCP infrastructure.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and support continuous improvement of cloud reliability.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of runbooks, SOPs, and operational standards.

What you bring to the role:
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
  • 8+ years functional experience including a minimum of 5+ years position specific experience in infrastructure, cloud operations, or systems engineering roles.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, GKE, etc.).
  • Experience supporting incident response, disaster recovery processes, and secure operational practices in cloud environments.

Skills & Certifications (Preferred)
  • Good understanding of cloud networking, availability zones/regions, and storage resiliency.
  • Practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, or similar automation tooling.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes/GKE operations and container orchestration.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration abilities.

Preferred certifications:
  • Google Associate Cloud Engineer
  • Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect (a plus)
  • Additional training/certifications in Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery are helpful.

Impact
This role is essential to maintaining secure and resilient GCP environments supporting Ingram Micro's global operations.
