Job Summary

The DevOps Team Lead is responsible for guiding Cisive's DevOps team in accelerating and automating software delivery processes. This role sets the technical direction for DevOps initiatives and works primarily within the Microsoft Azure environment. The DevOps Team Lead improves productivity across the development organization by establishing standards, best practices, and automation strategies. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and driving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives through Bicep and ARM templates.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Own and manage cloud infrastructure in production environments, primarily within Microsoft Azure.
  • Design, write, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Bicep and ARM templates.
  • Apply cloud-agnostic DevOps principles and best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Establish DevOps best practices for build, release, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment workflows and improve developer productivity.
  • Monitor and optimize system reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead incident response activities, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement processes.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to DevOps engineers.
  • Document architecture, operational procedures, and technical processes.
  • Partner with security teams to ensure compliance and implement secure deployment methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional DevOps or software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure on at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.).
  • Strong experience with modern CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Experience designing and maintaining pipelines using Git-based workflows; Azure DevOps experience highly preferred.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools and concepts (Bicep, ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity concepts (VPC/VNet, IAM, firewalls/NSGs, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, including crossteam coordination.
Working Conditions

This role operates in a professional remote environment. The position routinely uses standard office equipment and collaborates virtually with engineering, security, and product teams.
