Job description

Lead DevOps Engineer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Dallas, TX

Reports to: Chief Information Officer

We serve the largest freight brokers in the industry, solving one of their biggest pain points: who is really hauling their freight. We answer the question of Carrier Identity, protecting brokers’ networks, preventing fraud and increasing transparency. Role Description

Freight brokers put an incredible amount of trust in Highway and that trust will be extended to you. The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for scaling Highway’s platform in AWS using the best DevOps practices.


Your role:

  • Manage and oversee Highway’s cloud based solutions in AWS, ensuring the best architecture for long term scalability and risk mitigation.
  • Implement proactive monitoring, alerting and incident reporting processes.
  • Drive automation initiatives and improve service quality of the platform.
  • Own disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and ensure data resilience.
  • Implement best practices for data security, define the standards and create processes around them.
  • Work with the development team on testing and deploying solutions that support the scale of the business.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing could-based infrastructure, specifically within AWS.
  • Proven experience creating and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Proficient in AWS cloud-based solutions, such as ECS, RDS, Redshift, Elasticache, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, changing environment.


Key Work Objectives:

  1. Own the DevOps function within Highway
