Summary of Role:
The individual selected for this position will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering organization and will lead general manufacturing and operations engineering projects and solutions, including but not limited to, automation of operational processes and systems necessary to complement expanding implementation of robotics and other automation equipment. This role offers a wide view of, and influence over, general fab operations. It is ideal for candidates who have a solid foundational understanding of wafer fab systems and operations, seeking to expand breadth. Key skills include teamwork, problem solving, curiosity, innovation and leadership. You will understand how industrial automation systems perform, scaling and applying this knowledge to a unique semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Exact responsibilities will vary depending on the candidate and on the evolving requirements of this highly innovative and strategic area.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Act as technical project lead for critical Fab9 Test Wafer Automation ("QCS") project - driving expanded deployment of emerging system, then sustaining, improving and optimizing the ongoing operation
  • Lead projects to automate supporting human processes necessary for effective use of robotics and automated equipment, collaborating closely with automation hardware/software engineers.
  • Lead problem solving and continuous improvement of general manufacturing and fab operational systems and processes
  • Drive solutions ranging from re-engineering of legacy fab systems to development and implementation of novel/emerging methods and technologies
  • Partner with operators, maintenance, and others to understand all processes and how teams and individuals are involved and impacted at each step
  • Develop and/or update specifications, procedures, and equipment to sustain improvements
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to support decision making process and future business recommendations
  • Integrate work activities for cross-functional teams including Automation Engineering, Module Engineering, Operations, Facilities, EHSS, Change Review Board, robotic equipment OEMs

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Eng, Electrical Eng, Industrial Eng, Automation/Robotics Eng, Computer Science, Mechatronics or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Passion for problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings
  • Comfort working as both part of a team and/or entirely as an independent performer
  • Project management skills - ability to effectively develop, execute and track a work plan with owners, and schedule
  • Strong planning & organizational skills - ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and timelines
  • Integrate work activities for cross-functional teams including Automation Engineering, Module Engineering, Operations, Facilities, EHSS, Change Review Board, equipment OEMs, etc
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses (eg., ROIs) and make informed business recommendations
  • Conduct risk assessments (eg FMEA) and make informed business recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Excellent documentation and technical presentation skills
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Minimum of 10% travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior co-op or internship in manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of semiconductors, wafer processing and general fab operations
  • Experience with factory automation and/or robotics, particularly new system deployment and start-up, converting manual (human-based) operations to automated systems

Expected Salary Range
$69,000.00 - $120,000.00
